About Robert Malmberg / Malmberg Studio

Robert Malmberg is an award-winning photographer and mixed-media artist with more than two decades of experience. After fifteen years living and working in New York City, Robert returned to the Bay Area and is now based in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores neighborhood.

His work is rooted in a deep belief in photography as a medium for storytelling, transformation, and preserving the human experience. Through Malmberg Studio, his practice spans fine art photography, portraiture, wallpaper design, and custom commissions for individuals, collectors, interior designers, hospitality groups, and creative teams.

During his years in New York, Robert worked from his Greenpoint, Brooklyn studio, where he became known for his use of alternative photographic processes, large-format photography, and a contemporary approach to traditional techniques.

His work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Forbes, Hospitality Design, Domino, Veranda, and Interior Design, among others.
